How do I create a WordPress site?

Initially, a WordPress account and a personal site do not exist for you. When you log into WordPress the first time (What information do I use to login?), a WordPress account and a site are automatically created. You are the administrator of your personal site. You are able to add content, change themes, upload pictures and manage other aspects of your site.

There are two separate WordPress servers, one for students and alumni and another for faculty and staff. The URL for your personal site is a combination of the WordPress server and your name (only lowercase letters or digits). In the examples below, assume that your name is “Jane Smith”.

Student/Alumnus
WordPress Login: wp.cune.org
Personal site URL: http://wp.cune.org/janesmith/
Faculty/Staff
WordPress Login: wp.cune.edu
Personal site URL: http://wp.cune.edu/janesmith/

Official student organizations of the university may request a WordPress site through their faculty advisor. A faculty or staff member may request a separate site for a project, committee, course or department by submitting the request to the Marketing department with the form below.
