How do I change compatibility view in Internet Explorer?

Some websites you visit may appear jumbled or have text and images out of place, the website may have been designed to run on an earlier version of Internet Explorer. If you experience this the easiest first step is to view the page in compatibility view. If the website is already in compatibility view, you may need to remove it from compatibility view for it to display correctly. The following steps describe how to add or remove a website from compatibility view in Internet Explorer 11.

 1. Click on the gear icon in the top right corner of the window, select ‘Compatibility View settings’ from the menu.  IEmenu

 2. To add a website, type the URL into the ‘Add this website:’ box and select ‘Add’.

To remove a website,  select the URL in the ‘Websites you’ve added to Compatibility View:’ and select ‘Remove’.

Select ‘Close’, you will need to refresh the webpage before the changes are shown.
