How do I connect to the CUNESecure wireless network?
To connect to the internet with a personal device on Concordia's network, connect to the CUNESecure wireless network using your CUNE email and password. If the device requires a wired connection, or if it does not support WPA2-Enterprise wireless security, it must be registered by completing this service request.
Do not enter your CUNE credentials into a device you do not own. Trusted campus guests should have their device registered if the CUNEGuest network is insufficient for their needs.
Creating an event code for campus events should still be coordinated with the Helpdesk or Events.
Most modern devices, such as iPhones, iPads, current Android phones, and MacOS or Windows computers, support this technology. If you're unsure, follow the instructions below. If it fails to connect, submit the service request.
Connecting to CUNESecure
If you've previously connected your device to CUNESecure (or any other CUNE network), please use your device's settings to forget the wireless network before attempting to reconnect.
Every device uses different steps to view available networks. Follow the steps for your device to search for available networks while on campus to set up the connection.
- Connect to CUNESecure
-
Enter username and password
-
Personal Devices: Enter your CUNE email and password.
- CUNE-issued devices: Use the default credentials below.
Username/Identity: concordia
Password: concordia
- Accept/Trust any security certificates if prompted
In some cases, such as with Android devices, the options below will appear while you are attempting to connect. After the initial connection, editing the connection should reveal these settings again. Please select these options:
- EAP method: PEAP
- Phase 2 authentication: MSCHAPV2
-
CA certificate: "Use system certificates" and/or "Do not validate"
- Minimum TLS Version: TLSv1.2 or higher
- Online Certificate Status: Do not verify
-
Domain: cune.edu
-
Identity: your CUNE email address
-
Anonymous Identity: Make sure this field is BLANK. Some phones autofill it with "anonymous"
- Password: your CUNE password
Troubleshooting

Forgetting and re-connecting to this network can help with connection issues. The articles below have steps for common operating systems.
Additional Notes
-
We recommend using the CUNESecure network. Network traffic is encrypted on CUNESecure but is NOT encrypted on CUNE or CUNEGuest.
-
The CUNEGuest network is not intended for CUNE students, faculty, or staff. It is intended for occasional visitors, like visiting fans at a sporting event. Devices registered for the CUNESecure/CUNE networks will not connect to the Guest network. CUNEGuest also has limited bandwidth, meaning that it is slower than CUNESecure and CUNE.
-
University owned equipment must use the CUNESecure network. It will not work on the CUNE or CUNEGuest network.
-
There are a select few devices (TVs, smart home devices, etc.) that are unable to connect with the encryption that is used on this network. These devices may be able to connect to the CUNE network, but they may not work as they normally would on a personal home network.
