Due to increasing student enrollment at Concordia University, Nebraska, the university is implementing waitlists for classes effective with fall 2025 registration. If a class is full, a student can choose to be placed on a waitlist to enroll in the class if a seat becomes available. When a student is added to the waitlist, they are assigned the next available position number. However, there is no guarantee that a seat will open in the class, and not all classes have waitlists.
Waitlists relieve students of the burden of monitoring class schedules for class section openings. Waitlists also make the university aware that additional course sections may be needed. If currently enrolled students drop the class, eligible waitlisted students will be notified by email that a seat has become available and will have a 24-hour window to register for that seat before it is offered to the next student on the list. Remaining students then move up in waitlist order accordingly.
- If there are no students on the waitlist, any open seats will be available for registration.
- Students may not be on a waitlist for classes for which they have not met prerequisites.
- Students cannot be on a waitlist for classes that have co-requisites or different sections of classes that they are already enrolled in.
- If a seat opens in a class, the class will show as full until after the waitlist has been exhausted.
- If there are students on the waitlist, the next eligible student on the list will have the opportunity to register for the class and the class will remain closed.
- If the class capacity is increased, waitlisted students will have the opportunity to register based on their waitlist order.
More information will be available after Spring Break.
